Holiday Lights Breakdown 11/11/24

Happy Monday Ladies! We have a special Monday Motivation this week – we’re breaking down our Holiday Lights Contest and treating this call like a coaching call, so we can show you what you’re missing on the outside! First things first, grab the holiday lights template here so you can follow along!

This Holiday Lights event is one of the biggest you can do within your community to help you collect data and start growing your 5 Mile Famous presence – this is all about filling your funnel ladies!

Here are some things you can learn from people who sign up in your Holiday Lights Contest:

  • They are a homeowner
  • They love Christmas
  • They’re fun!
  • They might have kids
  • They own a home
  • They like to get involved in their community
  • They’re competitive!

The simple act of someone opting into a lead magnet can tell you a lot about the person! These are probably brand new people to you, but now that you have more information on them it’s easier for you to work them down your funnel!

Let’s rundown how this all plays out in Momentum – each month in our Momentum Guide we have a featured event. This can be a community event or a real estate event, we switch it up! We provide a page filled with templates that give you every single marketing asset you might need! You can personalize these things within Canva and make them your own!

Holiday Lights Contest is a top of the funnel activity. First things first, make sure you have a domain for this contest, and advertise that – this is important! We use GoDaddy, but feel free to use whatever you want! Just make sure your domain is memorable and easy to put into graphics. Once you have your domain ready, it’s time to start the promo! Start sharing your contest, and the prize you’re offering to whoever wins your contest. The better the prize the more responses you’ll get, if you can’t afford a big prize it’s time to look for SPONSORS! At some point you’re going to cut off registrations and allow voting, this can go for a week to ten days. The whole point of this contest is to pull people into our funnel, doesn’t matter if thats through sign-ups or voting!

Next step, is to create a map! This map will be for anyone wanting to vote. We create our maps in Proxi – and we highly recommend! Market this map on socials and have a QR code on all the house signs you have as well!

Now let’s set up some Google Forms! Your domain should forward to this form so people can register and then vote all from the one domain you bought! Check out the video below to get the full breakdown on what your form(s) should include. Now let’s brainstorm some places where you can share this form for people to enter + vote.

  • Personal social media
  • Business social media
  • Facebook ads
  • Any mom-groups in your area
  • Ask business partners to share
  • Post on NextDoor
  • Put out yard signs
  • Mail out postcards
  • Ask your HOA to share

VERY IMPORTANT – this will be hard your first year because people won’t understand what’s going on. For this, utilize the “you’ve been nominated” template. Go around your neighborhood and any decorated houses, go up and nominate them! Once they accept the nomination, send them plenty of graphics to share so they promote their house (and promote your contest of course).

Finally, Once you get the votes tallied you can announce who won. Really push this on your socials too and have the winners do the same! This whole contest should be all about collecting data and creating content!

Important reminder: TEST EVERYTHING. Make sure your QR code works, your domain works, your Google forms are correct! You’ll lose people if your link isn’t working when they try the first time.

Have fun with this ladies, this could be a huge builder for your network and business!
